Lipase LP-20

LP-20 not only hydrolyze fat to produce mono- or diglycerides and free fatty acids, but also catalyze ester synthesis and transesterification reactions.

DESCRIPTION
LP-20 is a powder form lipase produced from selected strains of Aspergillus niger through submerged fermentation, extraction and refining process. Its high activity and conversion rate enables LP-20 not only hydrolyze fat to produce mono- or diglycerides and free fatty acids, but also catalyze ester synthesis and transesterification reactions.

APPLICATIONS AND BENEFITS
【Leather】
Lipase is one of the main components of enzymes for leather industry and an important material in the production of upscale leather. It can be used in every preparation process of tanning and is suitable for all kinds of processing equipment including drums, troughs, pond, etc. It is also widely used in processes like soaking, liming, ash-removing / softening and degreasing of a variety of rawhides.
For leather processing, Lipase LP-20 is typically used in combination with protease at temperatures from 25 to 55°C, pH from 6 to 11.

【Detergent】
Use of lipase in detergents either alone or in combination with alkaline protease can help to remove fat or oil stains and dirt sebum of human body. About three quarters of the dirt on clothes are fat, which are stubborn stains uneasy to be removed; and the remainders are mainly proteins. Lipase can decompose triacylglycerol into fatty acid and glycerin, which are easy to be removed, hence greatly improve the stain removal effect of the detergent. The advantage of lipase as a biological product is that it is easily degradable without any pollution.

【Papermaking】
In papermaking industry, the main compositions of resin are triacylglycerol and wax. Lipase is used in paper industry to remove the resin from the pulps, thus reduce the impacts on paper quality that is caused due to the sedimentation of resin on the drying cylinders. Since triacylglycerol of higher fatty acids, like linolenic acid, linoleic acid, oleic acid, etc., is included in printing ink, the use of cellulose in combination with lipase can remove the printing ink from the waste paper.

PACKAGING, STORAGE & SHELF-LIFE
Lipase LP-20 is packaged in 25kg cardboard drums or kraft paper bags. Customized packaging is available upon request.

Typical shelf-life is six months provided it is stored below 25°C (77°F) in its original packaging, sealed and unopened, protected from the sunlight. Its shelf-life will be eighteen months if it is
stored  properly at 0∼10°C(32∼50°F). Prolonged storage and/or adverse conditions such as
higher temperatures may lead to a higher dosage requirement, therefore should be avoided.

SAFE HANDLING OF ENZYMES
Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with skins or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
