Description
Alpha-Amylase BAA-0100S is produced from Bacillus subtilis by submerged fermentation, extraction and refining process. It is an endoamylase which can randomly hydrolyze starch, glycogen and its degradation products within the α-1, 4 glycosidic bonds, rapidly decrease the viscosity of the gelatinous starch solution and produce soluble dextrin and oligosaccharides. Excessive hydrolysis may produce a small quantity of glucose and maltose.

Effect of pH
BAA-0100S works at pH from 6.0 to 7.0, with its optimal pH from 6.0 to 6.5. BAA-0100S can be inactivated dramatically at pH below 5.0.
 
Effect of Temperature
BAA-0100S works at temperatures below 60℃ (140℉), with its optimal temperature ranges from 60 to 70℃ (140 to 158℉). At temperatures from 70 to 90℃ (158 to 194℉), the reaction is accelerated with the temperature rises whilst the inactivation also speeds up.
 
Inhibitors
Copper, titanium and cobalt ions are moderate inhibitors for BAA-0100S, whereas aluminum, lead and zinc ions are strong inhibitors.
 
Dosage Guidelines
Recommended dosage of BAA-0100S is 5∼10g per ton of TMR diet.
 
Packaging
BAA-0100S is packaged in 20kg PP woven bags with inner plastic bags. Customized packaging is available upon request.
 
Storage & Shelf-life
  • Avoid direct sunlight and rain during transportation.
  • The storage room should be kept clean, cool and dry, preferably with air-conditioner.
  • Typical shelf-life is twenty-four months if this product is stored below 25℃ (77℉) in its original packaging, sealed and unopened, protected from direct sunlight. 
 
Safe Handling of Enzymes
Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with skin or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information, please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet.
